Algebraic Aspects of Quantum Electrodynamics

In the first part of the talk, we give a broad introduction to the subject Quantum Field Theory and, more specifically, Quantum Electrodynamics. Special emphasis is laid on the algebraic structures which emerge in analytic expressions of so-called Feynman integrals and the usage of Hopf-algebras in a process called renormalization.The second part of the talk covers a brief outline how these structures are applied in computations of observables as the anomalous magnetic moment of the electron.
