ABSTRACT: Adaptive meshes are always needed to deal with the problems
exhibit boundary or interior layers or shocks. Most of the adaptive
approaches till date are gradient based. One should have finer mesh
where the gradient is large as compared to the regular region (where
gradient is good enough). Recently, we have (along with one of my
collaborator) developed a new approach to achieve adaptive meshes
using the differential operator, we call it entropy production
operator. Results are encouraging for some elliptic and parabolic
cases.
